ABOUT ME

A little about me

I have cared for families through pregnancy, birth, and lactation since 2008. My former roles include: Community Health RN at a public health & family planning clinic, a Postpartum RN IBCLC in the hospital setting, teaching breastfeeding classes, and facilitating breastfeeding support groups, and six years as a Maternal Educator IBCLC outpatient clinician, conducting individual consultations at one of the largest Baby Friendly hospitals in the USA. I have been board certified in lactation since 2010. IBCLC is the gold standard and highest designation of lactation consultant.

How I came into Lactation Consulting

My interest in breastfeeding began with my own experiences-nursing two children through toddler age. Looking back, I am thankful for the support I received from a private practice lactation consultant.  I was able to overcome breastfeeding challenges such as latching, mastitis, thrush, and adapting diet changes for a baby with food allergies.

Things I enjoy

I enjoy giving back to my community and sharing my knowledge. My volunteer work has included teen mentoring birth coach, WIC breastfeeding peer counselor, and marketing & publicity chair with FLCA.

More about me

I enjoy teaching and helping new families prenatally and during the postpartum “ Fourth Trimester” period. I understand the emotional and physical struggles of breastfeeding and parenting young children and babies; I bring compassion, non judgement, and a sense of humor to my consultations. I would be honored to share my knowledge and experience to help you and your family achieve your personal infant feeding goals.
